Automatic Door Replacement at Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre

Overview

UK Facilities Solutions were entrusted with the replacement of automatic doors at the Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre in Tunbridge Wells, a prestigious retail destination managed by Knight Frank. This project required a tailored approach to ensure a seamless aesthetic while prioritising safety and functionality.

Scope of Work

The door replacement included:

  • Installation of a new set of automatic doors, including frames and glass.

  • Colour-matched spraying of the existing transom window above to maintain a consistent appearance.

  • Bespoke design services to recreate the applied manifestations on the glass, integrating the ‘automatic doors’ signage for an on-brand safety element.

  • Out-of-hours completion to minimise disruption to shoppers and maintain business continuity.

Challenges & Solutions

One of the key challenges of this project was ensuring that the new doors seamlessly blended with the existing architectural elements while enhancing safety and accessibility. To achieve this, UKFSL’s skilled in-house team worked in close contact with our network of trusted suppliers to meticulously colour-matched the transom window and design the bespoke manifestations that incorporated the ‘automatic doors’ signage without compromising the visual appeal.

Additionally, the project was carried out during non-trading hours to avoid inconvenience to shoppers and retail tenants. The team worked swiftly and efficiently, ensuring that the shopping centre was fully operational by the next business day.

Results

The new automatic doors provide a modern, functional, and aesthetically cohesive entryway to Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre. The project was delivered on time and with minimal disruption, reinforcing UKFSL’s commitment to quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction.
